WALK-ABOUT™  TRAFFICABLE CEILING SYSTEM

The JUDAH WALK-ABOUT™ Trafficable ceiling system is a versatile, simple to assemble and cost-effective steel grid system.

Using standard Judah steel stud profiles with purpose made joiners and clips you can suspend the WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling System from the structure above to provide a safe framework for installing a trafficable platform in the ceiling cavity. This allows easy access of mechanical and electrical services while simultaneously providing a support for the ceiling beneath.

The WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling System seamlessly integrates with the Judah^® Concealed Suspended Ceiling System and Judah T-Bar^® Exposed Grid Ceiling System (US customers only) and can also be specified for use in seismic designs.

However, please note that seismic activity varies significantly in the markets where our WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling System may be installed so it is recommended to contact us for detailed technical design advice.

Also, once the WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling System is constructed, a walking platform can be installed. Although, Judah^® doesn’t manufacture or supply systems for the construction of walking platforms, our Technical Design team can still assist you in working out your WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling design requirements.

The WALK-ABOUT™ Ceiling System has been featured in some of the most prestigious projects from around the world including the Venetian Resort and Casino in Macau which features the second largest air-conditioned footprint on earth (after NASA). The project utilized over 32,2917 ft² of WALK-ABOUT™ ceiling to access their extensive services above ceiling level. The System also acted as a structure to support the curved Judah^® Concealed Ceiling System, forming the famous “sky” ceiling of the resort.

In the 50 Martin Place Sydney project, Steel Stud was used in the design of a WALK-ABOUT Trafficable Ceiling System in the kitchen area where the horizontal studs had to be trafficable and to support the 4270lb/ft² loads for kitchen equipment.
